The rectangular top with ormolu-moulded gallery and central spring-release fall-front, on fluted legs with acanthus-cast sabots joined by a pierced stretcher with an entwined-dolphin finial, the underside stamped henry Dasson 1878 and one dolphin signed henry Dasson

Lot Essay

The present vide poche is based on the model by Adam Weisweiler, now residing at the Louvre. Two additional examples, also by Dasson and dated 1877 and 1882, respectively, were sold Christie's Paris, 8 November 2005 ($9,398) and Sotheby's New York, Property from the Collection of Lily & Edmond J. Safra, 4 November 2005, lot 322 ($33,600).
