The pot modelled as a rooster crowing beside a wooden cask, the cover moulded with grapevine; the jar modelled as two hounds chasing a hare as he disappears beneath a tree-stump, the base impressed 'TROP TARD' or too late; the singerie figure modelled seated on a book inscribed on the spine 'Darwin', his tail forming the handle, his top hat as the bobêche and drip-pan
