Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial and applied steel indexes in 1940 and its subsequent sale on 20 September 1940. Consequently, the present silvered dial has been added to a later date, possibly during a servicing.

Production of the famous Calatrava model with reference 96 was launched in 1932. In 1950 it was replaced by reference 2457 (see lot 80 in this auction).
