Lot Essay

The celebrated Cosmic model, originally introduced into the market in 1947, was Omega's first wristwatch featuring a full calendar combined with phases of the moon. It was mainly available with 14K or 18K yellow or pink gold cases and fitted with various dial versions.

The new edition of the model, featuring a black dial, was launched in 2002 as part of the "Omega Museum Collection".

A similar "Cosmic" model is described and illustrated in Omega - A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, p. 472, pl. 3093.
