Lot Essay

The pendant to the present composition depicts the sitter's husband, Jasper van Lynden d' Aspremont tot Planck (died 1669) which was at Phillips, London, 7 July, 1989. Another painting, also by van Rossum, of their children, Jacoba and Godard Philip was at Christie's, Amsterdam, 14 November 1991, lot 128.
