Printed at the first press at Esslingen, the Forma by Johannes de Grassis, professor of law at Turin and Pavia, is rare. ISTC records six institutional copies only, and no copy appears to have been sold at auction in over 50 years. The Modus legendi abbreviaturas is a glossary of abbreviations commonly found in Roman and civil law. As a useful reference work, it enjoyed several incunable editions, either on its own or, as here, in conjunction with other texts. The Forma procuratorii is bound after quire 18, and the four quires containing the Modus legendi are bound after the seven quires of the Johannes Auerbach and Tractatus praesumptionum.
