5 parts in one volume, 8° (159 x 104mm). Proclus with 5 woodcuts, diagrams and one table; Honter with 24 woodcut maps. (Some browning, occasional marginal dampstain.) Contemporary limp vellum, spine titled in manuscript (yapp edges worn with some repairs, possibly re-sewn and re-cased). Provenance: illegible title-stamp, press-marks on the endpapers.
The first Basel edition of Honter's Cosmographiae, with 24 maps made for this edition mostly independently from those for previous editions, which included just 14 maps. The cordiform world map redraws the Americas, and shows Antarctica. This edition also includes separate maps of the East Indies, Cuba, Cyprus, and others. Sabin 65940; Shirley 108.
