FIRST EDITION of this celebrated collection of Roman views dedicated to Queen Anne. At his death in 1706 the work remained unfinished and it was his nephew Michael who completed and published the book in 1708 in Amsterdam. Among the handsome plates there is a remarkable set of 22 views of the Colosseum. Brunet: IV, 264: 'Ouvrage estimé pour l'exactitude des dessins'; Cicognara 3806. (3)
