Modelled in the form of a well bucket, decorated in green, ochre and cream glazes on a light stoneware body with abstract design, brown lacquer covers

Lot Essay

The hakogaki is by Sujimoto Fusai, one of the 'Shitenno' (Four guardian kings, i.e. Four great disciples) of the Haiku poet Ikeda Sotan (1636-1643)
