Two lacquer koro [incense burner]
Edo Period (18th - 19th century)
The first with a lobed body in the form of plum blossom, copper gilt liner and pierced domed cover, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, gold and silver foil and inlaid in mother-of-pearl on a sparse nashiji ground with scattered plum blossoms; the second of lobed form decorated in gold hiramaki-e and nashiji on a black ground with scrolling foliage, copper gilt liner and pierced cover
