A free translation of the poems are: 'In the mountains guest and friends meet; they do not stop talking; in doing this they sometimes meet by the bridge they must cross'; and: 'I name the fallen chrysanthemum as my brother, and am the master of the autumn river, prunus and bamboo are both lovable, as a red skirt may love the green well dressed man'.
