A bronze figure of Guanyin
17th century
Seated in vajrasana, the right hand holding a twig and the left a bowl, wearing lower garment held together by a girdle knotted at the front, overgarment with the borders engraved with scrolling flowers, breast ornament, the face with meditative expression, elongated earlobes with large ear ornaments, the hair partly combed into a chignon, topped by a lotus flower and a pair of long tresses falling over the shoulders and set to the front with tiara encompassing a minute figure of Buddha Amitabha, traces of red and gilt lacquer
