A Chinese erotic bamboo verneered games box
Late 19th Century
Containing eight rectangular wood plaques decorated with bamboo-verneered erotic scenes, the reverse with each a seal mark, respecively Chun (spring), xia (summer), qiu (autumn), dong (winter), shou, fu (geluk), lu (prosperity) and xi (blessing by the gods), the box decorated with two seated scholars in a garden and inscribed Tushufu (study treasury)
the cards 9.7 x 6.7 cm.
