A Japanese bronze group of three tigers
Late 19th century, signed Akimitsu no saku
The three tigers of different size, mounted on a naturalisticly modelled base simulating a rocky landscape, the biggest tiger standing in front of the two others with his forelegs on a rock, its head raised roaring, attacked from the back by the smallest tiger, the third tiger following in subtle movement, the eyes inlaid in silver, signed in a square reserve
