8° (231 x 140mm). Two folding explanatory diagrams and an engraved device on the title-page. (Very occasional light spotting, tear to one of the illustrations.) Contemporary green morocco with gilt tools and blind-stamped decoration, gilt spine in compartments, pink moiré paper doublures, gilt inner dentelles, gilt edges (extremities rubbed). Provenance: Prince Leuchtenberg (bookplate) -- traces of removed bookplate.
THE LEUCHTENBERG COPY, IN A LUXURIOUS GREEN MOROCCO BINDING. Includes appendices to regulations for companies and battalions, with two diagrams showing positioning during manoeuvres. RARE: WorldCat records only one copy in North America, at the New York Public Library.
