Provenance: Nineteenth-century inscriptions, some erased -- K.A. Shimkevich (bookplate) -- shelf-marks and twentieth-century stamps.

FIRST EDITION. Compiled by 'P.P.', presumably inspired by the Karamzin quotation on the title pages: 'Poetry is the flower garden of sentimental hearts'. Contains poems by Derzhavin, Kheraskov, and Batiushkov among many others, including the latter's Plennyi of 1813-1814, in which Batiushkov records his impressions of the war against Napoleon.
