4° (325 x 245mm). Portrait frontispiece of Nicholas II, illustrations throughout, 6 tipped-in diagrams (of 14). (Light marginal browning.) Contemporary red and brown leather by K.M. Rodionov with his ticket, preserving the original illustrated paper upper cover with chromolithograph and printed in gold and black, upper cover titled in gilt, white patterned endpapers (lacking insignia on the front cover, worn, some repairs, remnants of book-tickets on the inside front cover). Provenance: a Russian reader (illegible pencilled signature) -- 'Printed in Russia' (stamp).
FIRST EDITION, in a full-leather binding by Rodionov of Tver, of this history of the 1st Horse-Artillery regiment since its re-organization after the Battle of Austerlitz. RARE: not in Lyons. WorldCat lists only one microfilm copy in North America, at Harvard.
