Lot Essay

Hester Frances was youngest daughter of the Rev. Hon. Robert Cholmondeley and grand-daughter of George, 3rd Earl of Cholmondeley. She married on 3 December 1783, Sir William Bellingham, 1st Bt., who was secretary to the Rt. Hon. William Pitt and later Commissioner of the Navy.
