Keman was a busy traveller; he is recorded from 1784 to 1789 in Paris, 1789 in Schlettstadt, 1790 in Strasbourg, 1790-1792 in Paris, from 1792 in London and 1796 in Bristol. Miniatures by Keman are rare. A signed pair is illustrated in colour in K. Henninger-Tavcar, Miniaturporträts, Pforzheim, 1995, p. 213.
