THREE SCOTTISH SILVER-MOUNTED HORN SNUFF-MULLS
EACH APPARENTLY UNMARKED, ONE DATED 1844
The domed hinged covers of each chased with foliage scrolls, one further chased with thistles, each cover further set with a faceted rock crystal, the horns each applied with a silver shield, one engraved with initials, another engraved with an inscription
4¼ in. (10.5 cm.) wide and smaller
The inscription reads 'PRESENTED TO Mr. John Robertson BY THE WORKMEN OF LANGLOAN IRON WORKS in testimony of their respect and esteem for him as their MANAGER 1st Jany 1844' (3)
