THE FOLLOWING TWENTY LOTS ARE FROM THE ESTATE OF THE LATE IAN COPELAND Ian Copeland (1949-2006) was a pioneer in the field of music promotion and is credited with helping to launch the New Wave movement in the United States. Founding Frontier Booking International (FBI) in 1979, Copeland represented many of the premier musical acts of the 1980s and 90s, including The Police, The Go-Go's, R.E.M., Sting, Morrissey, Simple Minds, The Smiths and many others. In 1997, Copeland opened the Backstage Café in Beverly Hills, which he owned and ran until his death in 2006 and where much of the following collection was on display.
