The new Surrey Air Ambulance service was launched by Penelope Keith OBE on June 8 this year at Dunsfold Park near Cranleigh.
The helicopter which responds to medical emergencies in Surrey with a specialist doctor and critical care paramedic answered over 1,000 in the first three months of service ranging from road traffic accidents, severe sports injuries and medical emergencies.
The Air Ambulance is funded entirely by public donations and doesn't receive any government or national lottery funding. It costs #1.5 million a year to keep this vital medical emergency service flying 365 days a year. For more information, visit the website www.surreyairambulance.co.uk
