The present drawing by Burne-Jones is for the South Aisle of the Church of St Mark, New Ferry, Cheshire. The present drawing is for the left hand light of the window in the south aisle: Christ preaching from the ship is the centre light and St Jude the right-hand light. Burne-Jones also designed two windows for the north aisle.

The entry for all three windows are mentioned together in Burne-Jones's account book dated 1876 'New Ferry Church. 3 designs £12 ea. £36. New Ferry Church, 6 designs Apostles £12 ea. Paul, Jude, John, Andrew, James, Peter. £72'. What Burne-Jones describes as St Paul is in fact the present drawing of St Simon. The entries for all 3 windows in the Catalogue of Designs are dated July 1877.
