Lot Essay

Talbot Hughes exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Grosvenor Gallery and Suffolk Street 1871-1903. His exhibited works include Fruitful Bough, The End of the Game, In Dire Peril, and The Road of Love. He was the son of the still-life painter William Hughes (1842-1901) and brother of H. Hughes-Stanton (1870-1973).
