Against a rocky landscape, the Mother of God reclining on an opulent couch, behind her Christ placed in an altar-shape manger, attended by the ass and the ox, to the left the Kings offering their gifts, a shepherd standing to the right, in the foreground another shepherd conveying the news of Christ's Birth to Joseph and opposite, two maids bathing the Child, at the top the angels pointing to the shining star, at the borders the Guardian Angel and St. Katerina appearing as the patrons of the family that commissioned the icon
