An unusual moulded celadon bowl, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)
thickly potted with rounded sides and a sturdy foot, decorated to the interior well with six historical figures and accompanying instructions identifying some of them, KongZi playing the qin, the poet Li Bai reading scrolls at the desk and Zhen Zi challenging a warrior in chess, all surrounding a central character Gao and below a key-fret band at the rim, the exterior with lotus sprays below a further band of key-fret - 6.7./8in. (17.5cm.) diam.
