A parcel-gilt bronze censer, Zhu Zhenming mark, 16th/17th century
cast around the bombe sides with dragons flanked by mythical beasts amidst fire scrolls above breaking waves, below the neck with phoenix flanking the Wheel of Law, all reserved on a diaper ground and interrupted by a pair of mythical beast-head loop-handles, with a continuous foliate quatrefoil scroll on the splayed foot, the base with a gilt panel incised Yunjian Zhu Zhenming zhi ('made by Zhu Zhenming of Yunjian') -- 6¾in. (17.1cm.) wide, zitan stand and wooden cover with an agate lingzhi spray, Japanese box.
