A pair of cloisonne enamelled dishes, Wanli (1573-1619)
each decorated in coloured enamels with a central roundel depicting a pair of birds amongst rockwork and various flowering stems including orchids, magnolia and prunus, bordered by a band of four cartouches, depicting flowering lotus, chrysanthemum, prunus and lily, the flattened rims with gilt wire ruyi-head motifs, the underside of the rim with a band of large flowering lotus blossoms, all decoration on a vibrant turquoise ground -- 9¼in. (23.5cm.) diam. (2)
