A celadon and russet jade model of a qilin, 17th century
the recumbent mythical beast carved looking forward with the horns resting on the back, the flanks carved with scales above fire scrolls, with the thick tail pointing upwards, the legs tucked underneath utilising the russet areas of the mottled pale celadon tone stone, pierced at the centre -- 2¼in. (5.6cm.) long.
