A Tibetan painted and gilt clay model of Lama Kunzan Tenpi Nyima, 19th Century
seated on a lotus base wearing the typical hat of the Nyingma School and heavy robes decorated in red and gilt, his left hand holds a book, the right hand held high in adhaya mudra, raised on a sectional rectangular wood base carved and painted with offerings, a Tibetan inscription to the reverse of the lotus throne identifies this important 19th century Lama -- 10 7/8in. (27.8cm.) high.
