A gilt lacquered bronze figure of an multi-armed Bodhisattva, 16th/17th century
modelled seated in dhyanasana, with nine pairs of arms, the two principal sets in dhyana mudra and namaska mudra, the others flared out around the body holding various buddhistic attributes, the bodhisattva with serene facial expression, wearing an ornate headdress and beaded jewellery -- 5 7/8in. (27cm.) high.
