A wucai vase and cover, Shunzhi (1644-1661)
of baluster form rising to the high shoulders and short tapering neck with a lipped rim, surmounted by a domed cover with a pearl finial, decorated with flowerheads and rock formations alternating with auspicious emblems amidst swirling and breaking waves, between foliate lotus blossoms on the shoulders and a lappet border above the foot, the neck and cover similarly decorated -- 14½in. (36.8cm.) high.
