etching with drypoint and engraving, 1656, a very good impression of the second state (of three), with touches of burr to the vertical frames of the window, to the sitter's cap and right hand and to the implements on the table, watermark foolscap with seven-pointed collar (cf. A. & F. Aa), trimmed to the platemark, with a borderline in pen and ink, a small rust spot on the reverse (showing through as a tiny spot above the window), an unobtrusive minor crease parallel to the left and right sheet edges, otherwise in very good condition, framed
