A silver-gilt, cloisonné and en-plein enamel cigarette-case
Moscow, 1896-1908, marked B.A. probably for Vasilii Andreev
Oblong, with rounded corners, the hinged cover painted with sailing and rowing boats near wooded shores, within a section of frame, simulating wood and entwined with floral scrolls, completing the frame, with a blue ground corner of wirework scrolls extening to the reverse with blue ground central panel, in similar framed section, with flower-sprays beneath, on stippled ground, within white pellet borders, the interior with later inscription including an extract from the poem in German, dated 4. Sept. 37., marked inside covers
