The French Military Order of St. Louis was abolished in 1830; the date on the miniature, 1835, seems to have been altered from 1825. Nevertheless, the centre of the Order of the Legion of Honour shows the two flags, thus dating between 1830 and 1852, and may have been added or altered at a later date, possibly in 1835.
