AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CORE-FORMED GLASS ALABASTRON
CIRCA LATE 6TH-5TH CENTURY B.C.
Dark blue in color, the elongated oval body with a rounded bottom, tapering shoulders, a short cylindrical neck and a horizontal disk rim, with opaque white and yellow threads wound spirally on the shoulders and body, the threads tooled into a zigzag pattern on the body, with shallow vertical indentations from the tooling, an opaque yellow thread on the rim and twin cobalt blue vertical handles on the shoulders
