The spherical vessel formed from two sections hinged together, the hinge with tongue-shaped plates, attached by rivets, a hooked closure opposite with drop-shaped plates, the lower section on a tall flaring foot, with lathe-turned horizontal bands and moldings, the upper with two openwork registers of quatrefoils and circles, each cut out form with incised borders, the registers framed by lathe-turned bands, the knobbed finial surmounted by a ring joined to a length of chain
