Evocatrice de la technique des impressionnistes, l'utilisation de saphirs de tons et de tailles différentes crée un effet de lumiè re à la surface du bijou. Contrastant avec l'éclat des diamants, la ligne d'argent noirci bordant la broche attire l'oeœil et le conduit des larges entrelacs jusqu'au saphir central. JAR, connu pour son intèrêt pour la géométrie, les motifs tressés et les cercles, transforme avec raffinement ce noeœud d'éternité, habituellement associé à des motifs celtiques réalisés en argent ; il le fait sien, doux et fluide, créant ainsi une pièce unique et contemporaine. Reminiscent of the technique of the great impressionist painters, the subtle use of sapphires in the brooch, with varying degrees of size and intensity of hue creates a rippling effect, as the light dances across the surface. Contrasting the trefoils of sparkling white brilliant-cut diamonds, the whole brooch is framed by a fine border of blackened silver. The eye is focused as it circles the loops and rests on the central oval-shaped sapphire. Known for his fascination of geometry, swirls and circles, JAR takes this traditional eternal knot, usually associated with Celtic designs fashioned heavily in silver, refines it, makes it his own, soft and fluid in its movement, and so creates a contemporary artistic jewel.
