The International Watch Company, commonly known as IWC, was founded by an American engineer and watchmaker by the name of Florentine Ariosto Jones, in Schaffhausen. The present watch is part of a limited edition manufactured to tribute to Mr. Jones and is equipped with the Jones calibre. This special movement is derived from basic pocket watch calibers featuring the "Jones Arrow", an elongated index for simple precision adjustment which reaches from the balance cock down to the three-quarter plate.
The IWC F. A. Jones is limited to 500 examples in platinum, 1,000 in rose gold and 3,000 in stainless steel.
