A Personification of Drawing embracing Painting

Several versions are known of this composition, presumably reflecting a lost work by Reni (D.S. Pepper, Guido Reni, Oxford, 1984, p.298, no.C3). A version in the collection of the Cassa di Risparmio, Bologna, is attributed to Giovan Giacomo Sementi (E. Negro and M. Priondini ed., La Scuola di Guido Reni, Modena, 1992, p.20, fig.3)
