The streamline forms with shaped loop handles, the convex borders resist-decorated in brown with variant striated patterns in imitation of moiré silk, gilt line rims, comprising:

Lot Essay

The 'Moire' pattern was designed for Clarence House and produced by the noted Limoges porcelain manufacturer, Bernardaud, in blue and pink. The present service is a unique example in brown, produced expressly for Robin Roberts as noted in French on the bottom of each piece: Ce service "MOIRE BRONZE" a été exécuté spécialement et en un seul exemplaire pour Monsieur ROBIN ROBERTS. (This "Moire Bronze" service has been produced as a unique special order for Mr. Robin Roberts).
