C., 24 June 1825. 1 page, folio (15 x 11 in.), printed ON PARCHMENT, calligraphic text headed "By the President of the United States," finely engraved with a large vignette of a fully-rigged ship, and a large light-house on a rocky islet with a port city visible in the background, with paper seal in lower left corner, accomplished in manuscript, scalloped top edge. A SHIP'S PASSPORT for the ship Leonidas, out of Fair Haven, allowing Captain Barzillai L. Adams and his crew of 22 men, and their cargo of 243 tons to pass the port of New Bedford, Massachsuetts. Counter-signed at bottom by the Collector of the Port, Russell Freeman.
