Quarter grey calf gilt, contemporary marbled paper boards, spine gilt-ruled in five compartments, gilt-lettered in two (rebacked, corners scuffed). Provenance: G.A. Shurtleff (inscription dated 1859); St. John's Guild Hall (library stamps on Preface and p.17); W. J. Holliday (bookplate; his sale Parke-Benet New York, 20-22 April 1954, lot 1183).
