The teapot of swollen cyindrical shouldered form with short upstanding rim, swollen cylindrical spout and cylindrical scrolled handle, circular cover with tapering square section finial, darkbrown glaze, pale pink glazed interior, comprising a teapot with strainer, a sugarbowl and cover, a milkjug and cover, six cups and four saucers

All impressed Pottenbakkerij "De Ooyman", and incised numbers and letters (9)

Lot Essay

Thera Hofstede Crull established her ceramic workshop "Den Ooyman" in Doetinchem in 1928. In 1934 she moved to Ommen were she lived in the 'Pallandt house' and were she continued her workshop and teached at the Quaker School. The Fischer's stayed many times with Thera at the house and on the initiative of Kitty, a summer course on composition and drawing by Johannes Itten was organized in 1937
