A RARE LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY SOUTH AFRICAN SILVER COVERED SUGAR BOWL,
MARK OF JOHAN HENDRIK VOS, CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, CIRCA 1800,
Vase-shaped with bead borders, on square pedestal foot, scroll side handles & domed cover, the gilt ovoid finial with six curved silver palm leaves radiating out from the centre, maker's mark only under base, 6¾ in. high (17 cm.), 14 oz.
