A PAIR OF DECORATIVE METALWARE TRAYS,
MARK OF LOPEZ Y FERNANDEZ, PROBABLY MEXICAN OR SPANISH, 20TH CENTURY,
Rectangular with decoration in high relief, the backs fitted with suspension rings, the borders depicting torches, male torsos, military trophies, eagles, urns, classical helmeted warriors in profile, urns & foliage, the centres depicting respectively "The Surrender of Breda" after Diego Velázquez (1599-1660, painted before 1635) which took place in 1625 & "The Capitulation of Granada" after F.Padilla, depicting Boabdil, the Moorish king of Granada, surrendering his city to Ferdinand & Isabella in 1492, 27½ in. long (70 cm).
