A GEORGE IV SILVER INKSTAND,
MARK OF EMES & BARNARD, LONDON, 1825,
Shaped rectangular with leaf & shell corners & gadroon borders, on shell & foliate feet, engraved with a small Scottish crest & motto scroll, the three gadroon-edged receivers holding two mounted diamond-cut glass bottles flanking a central taperstick, the latter with shell thumbpiece to ribbed ring handle & conical snuffer secured by chain, the base with a depression on either side to take a pen, 11 in. long (27.8 cm.), 30 oz.
