A 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER SWING-HANDLED CAKE BASKET,
MARK OF CARL ADOLF SEIPEL, ST.PETERSBURG, 1861,
Shaped oval with fruiting vine handle, border & feet, the onion-lobed sides with gilt interior, side initialled "EW", base inscribed with a long list of names, possibly Baltic, the inscription dated 15 July 1862, 13 in. long (33 cm.), 23.5 oz.
