A 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN PARCEL-GILT SILVER & NIELLO GOBLET,
MARK OF AK (script), MOSCOW, 1838,
Of tall, slender form with flared lip & pedestal foot, the sides with two bands of lozenge motifs on linear ground edging stippled surface decorated with flowers between two oval panels, one depicting Falconet's equestrian statue of Peter the Great, the other a sailing vessel with buidings behind, a foliate band around the foot, 6¾ in. high (17 cm.), ALSO another goblet similar, mark of PH (script) in oval punch, Moscow, 1838, with profuse foliate decoration, continuous band of lozenge motifs around the foot, 6 3/8 in. high (16 cm.), AND a small parcel-gilt silver & niello goblet with two architectural panels separated by flowers, mark of TT.(script), Moscow, 1845, 3 7/8 in. high (9.8 cm.), 12.75 oz.
