A GROUP OF THREE EARLY 20TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER-MOUNTED DESK BLOTTERS,
MARK OF ADRIAN IVANOV, 1908/17,
Comprising a large blotter, the silver mount with a perched eagle in relief, a swag of laurel dangling from his beak, scrolls & pendent decoration below, engraved monogram, Cyrillic inscription & date 18/II/1919, 18.5 cm. long (47 cm.), another smaller, 12¼ in. long (31.2 cm.), the silver plaque mount chased in low relief with a trio of medieval Russian warriors on horse-back, Pan-Slavic & foliate decoration below, Cyrillic inscription & oval reserve dated 25/I/1919 above Roman numerals "XXV", (re-mounted), & a third blotter, 9 5/8 in. long (25.3 cm.), with stylised leaf tooling to leather, the silver mount chased with ribbon-tied laurel swags, scrolls & leafy sprays.
